gray is my love language

I thought everything was black and white
right or wrong, so good or so bad

this year I painted my bedroom gray
and bought myself gray bedding

I’ve loved gray for a lot of years now
and I’ve finally realized why

It’s soothing, non-binary, calming
non-conforming, nuanced, mysterious

and as far as light wavelengths go, it’s a mix of
every color and no colors, literally all-inclusive

that’s a gray area used to seem threatening
and now I’m all ooh gray area! where? yay!
